How long is the first visit?
Your first visit should take anywhere from 45 to 60 minutes. Please show up 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment time to make sure all of your paperwork is filled out properly.
How long are treatment visits?
Subsequent visits should last between 20 and 30 minutes.
Do you accept insurance?
Yes, we accept BCBS and medicare. We will submit a claim on your behalf and after adjustments have been made the remaining balance will be the patient's responsibility. Each patient's insurance is different so you may contact our office with any additional coverage questions or you can also contact your insurance carrier to see what your chiropractic coverage includes.
What is a "co-pay" or "co-payment"?
A co-pay is a specific charge your insurance plan may require you to pay at the time of service. For example, your health insurance plan may require a $25 co-pay for an office visit or prescription drug, after which your insurance company, based on your plan, will pay all or a percentage of your remaining balance.
What is a deductible?
A deductible is the amount a patient has to pay out-of-pocket before their insurance plan will begin to pay the remaining cost. Your deductible amount is dependent on your insurance plan.
Do I need a referral?
No, you do not need a referral to be treated at Banning Family Chiropractic.
What should I wear to my appointments?
You should wear or bring comfortable clothing to your appointment. Examples of this would be athletic shorts, t-shirts or tank tops.
Can children be treated by chiropractors?
Both infants and children benefit from chiropractic treatment. Children often need fewer appointments than adults.
Can pregnant patients be treated by chiropractors?
Absolutely. Often times pregnancy can cause additional stress to a women's body, like low back pain. Chiropractic treatment is an effective and safe way to treat this pain.
How much education is required to become a Doctor or Chiropractic Medicine?
Chiropractic education includes four years of Doctoral work after a Bachelor's Degree. The education is very similar to that of a medical doctor but chiropractors spend more time on anatomy, nutrition and chiropractic technique, while a medical student will spend more time on pathology and pharmacology.
Do chiropractors work with other medical doctors and specialists?
